my embarrassing experience

It happened six years ago, when i 5 th grade. I attended a poetry reading           contest at my school. The race takes place on Saturday, and the announcement of the winner will be announced at a ceremony later Monday.

When Monday came, I woke up late, so I  hurry to go to school. Because too in a hurry, I forgot to put on shoes and just wear sandals. I also went to school with my dad delivered.

When I arrived at the school, ceremony will begin. I immediately lined up in grade 5. ceremony begin, none of the students were aware that I was wearing sandals. I did not realize that I do not wear shoes but wear sandals.

The ceremony was completed, it was time for the announcement of the competition. I pray that I can win, when the winner number 3 read poetry were announced, I was surprised that my name called as the winner three read poetry, I was immediately move forward with a happy feeling, without realizing that I was not wearing shoes.

When I got to the front, all the students and teachers were laughing at me, I was puzzled to see them laugh at me, when I look towards my feet, I was shocked because I was not wearing shoes but sandals. The school principal also asked me why I was wearing sandals instead of shoes, and I also explained that I was in a hurry. Fortunately the school principal do not punish me. I also received a gift with mixed feelings,embarrassment, pleasure, and others. It was an embarrassing experience for me. I will not forget the experience ever.
